Choreography Competition 2020

March 14, 2020

It is my pleasure to invite all members of the Hilary Marston School of Ballet to take part in this year’s Choreography Competition (Grade 1 upwards) which will take place at –

Saturday 2 May at the Grayshott Village Hall, Headley Rd, Grayshott, Hindhead GU26 6TZ

4:30pm – 5:15pm JUNIORS

5:15pm – 6:00pm SENIORS

This will be a friendly fun competition where the children perform their own dances to their own choice of music, no longer than 2 minutes. It may be a solo, duet or trio. Most of the preparation has to be done outside of class but I will give them guidance if required. Students of the dance school are welcome to invite siblings or friends to join them on stage.

Miss Ughetta Pratesi agreed to adjudicate the competition again. For those who remember, she was our adjudicator last year too. There will be Silver Cups awarded to the Junior and Senior winners and medals awarded for runners up.

The dance may be in any style; tap, ballet, modern, jazz, lyrical, free movement, hip-hop, etc. likewise with the music, (please provide all music on a CD or on a device with an AUX point). Props can also be used.

Costumes and make-up are optional and a folder may be prepared with the entrants costume design. Samples of fabrics can be incorporated and these folders will be taken into consideration, however it is not essential that one is presented.

The entry fee for this competition is £10 per child/student.

Payment can be returned in a named envelope with the entry form, or direct bank transfer to Hilary Marston School of Ballet 60-16-26 80069371
